First info about second episode

Today the Eye of the Storm development team would like to announce that work on the second episode is continuing and to present the first screenshot.

Judging by the screenshot you may think that second episode will feature a gameplay style very similar to Ravenholm. While there will be similarities you would be incorrect.
This episode will also explain the strange sighting of people that has been questioned since the start of John's story in Ravenholm.
The team would also like to add new features and are in need of a coder and a modeler/texture artist to implement them. If you think you would be suitable and would like to work on this project please contact the Project Leader at:

Eye of the Storm episode I released!

To celebrate the release of Eye of the Storm episode one the development team would like to present some final information and a trailer for the mod.



First episode offers over 30 minutes of game time as well as the option to replay with developer commentary turned on, offering insight into some of the issues encountered and design decisions made during development. There are also some bonus maps which add another 20-30 minutes of game time to the mod.
You will also notice some new textures, new models, English dialogue and a replacement for the crowbar. A complete list of the development team is also now available here.

Hopefully this update answers the frequently asked questions and will satisfy those who are eagerly awaiting the release. And here is small preview of episode II:

It's closer...

Finally! problems with voice actors are solved - I've got all lines recorded. I'll do some Face poser work, do betatesting and release it! I don't know how much time you have to wait but I had large amount of time so I have implemented Bonus maps so you can play more advanced (and harder) versions of used maps and listen to developer commentary (Mark Snow helped me with this a lot). Thanks for patience! (and sorry for my English :)

City24 administrator

Today the development team would like to present video footage for the first episode of Eye of the Storm. This showcases another new character, the City24 administrator.



Her voice is supplied by Victoria Teunissen (http://www.catzeyes93.com/), a talented voice actor who has worked with many other teams including the Black Mesa Source team.
We hope you enjoy the first video footage for Eye of the Storm and look forward to any community feedback.

July update

Welcome to the lastest update for Eye of the Storm. Today the development team would like to announce that first episode is about 80% complete. The main level design is finished with map scripting and character posing to be worked on. Below you will find new screenshots showcasing the new building textures and Dark Citadel.

We are still looking for Voice Actors and a modeller to join the development team. The modeller will be required to create some simple props and a replacement for the Crowbar (from 2.August to 13.August I probably won't be able to answer). The Writer position has been filled and we would like to welcome them to the team.
It has also been decided that the latest version of the Source Engine will be used, therefore Half-Life 2: Episode Two will be required to play Eye of the Storm.

April update

Holiday update

We would also like to announce that a Writer (Dialogue) has joined the team and that a future update shall include a new screenshot of one of the main characters, Paul, and the changes that have been made to his model due to community suggestions.

New character

We would like to introduce Paul a new character in the episodically released Half Life 2 modification Eye of the Storm. Paul is an old friend from John's resistance fighter days in City 17 and is a key figure in solving his forgotten past.
The model is still considered a work in progress and makes use of Phong Shading, an effect introduced in Half Life 2: Episode One on Alyx Vance. Phong Shading is one of the lighting enhancements made to the Source engine in order to ground characters in the game worlds and make them seem to be truly present in their environment.

Announcement

From the creator of the Half Life 2 modification Ravenholm comes the continuation of the story. Follow John's journey through the episodically released Source modification "Eye of the Storm. This project's homesite will be updated with new information and media during the development process.

Picking up the story after John's escape from Ravenholm, you will visit new locations and meet new characters as you are taken prisoner by the Combine in City 24 and are reunited with an old friend from your resistance fighter days in City 17. Now he appears to be the key to unlocking the next chapter of your forgotten past.

Current plans are to utilise the latest Source SDK therefore Half Life 2: Episode Two will be required to run the modification.
There are currently unfilled positions, the main positions being:
Writer (Dialogue)
Modeller
Voice Actors
Anyone interested in filling these positions, or if you are curious about helping the development of the mod, should contact Lord the Project Leader.
